I've been embroidering a city since the beginning of this year. This is the first section I've more or less finished - it's an island that's going to be in the middle of two larger landmasses (like Gamla Stan in Stockholm), with ships in the water between them. Problems I'm having: a) it's twee; b) there are no people which is sinister. Hopefully I will overcome these problems. The bit of fabric I'm embroidering is 2 meters by 2 meters; and since the treehouse tenements took me approximately the entire length of the unabridged audiobook of 'The Grapes of Wrath' to do, it's a project that will last a while.
In other news, I've more or less finished writing Vol. 2 of Falling Over, and Chapter One will be up here soon.
